About This Presentation

Case study of pH testing and litmus paper testing in Milk, Pepsi and Vinegar

Slide Content

pH and Buffers ENTER VIRUS GROUP 1 BIOCHEMISTRY LABORATORY CONTENT INTRO RESULT MATERIALS CONCLUSION PROCEDURE

INTRO MATERIALS PROCEDURE RESULT CONCLUSION CONTENT What is pH and Buffer ? pH is a measurement of the concentration of hydrogen ions or the acidity of water A buffer is a solution that can resist pH change upon the addition of an acidic or basic component

INTRO MATERIALS PROCEDURE RESULT CONCLUSION CONTENT "What are the 2 activities that we did last week?" pH Meter Reading Litmus Paper Testing

INTRO MATERIALS PROCEDURE RESULT CONCLUSION CONTENT pH Meter is used to measure how acidicity , basic, alkalanity  the solution .

INTRO MATERIALS PROCEDURE RESULT CONCLUSION CONTENT Dropper is used for drawing up and dropping small amounts of liquid.

INTRO MATERIALS PROCEDURE RESULT CONCLUSION CONTENT Litmus Paper used to indicate the acidity or alkalinity of a substance .

INTRO MATERIALS PROCEDURE RESULT CONCLUSION CONTENT Beaker is used especially in chemistry for holding and measuring liquids.

INTRO MATERIALS PROCEDURE RESULT CONCLUSION CONTENT Sterilized Milk it is a ready to drink milk that has undergone through sterilization process.

INTRO MATERIALS PROCEDURE RESULT CONCLUSION CONTENT Vinegar A sour liquid fermentation of any of numerous dilute alcoholic or a dilute

INTRO MATERIALS PROCEDURE RESULT CONCLUSION CONTENT Pepsi a carbonated softdrink with a Cola flavor

INTRO MATERIALS PROCEDURE RESULT CONCLUSION CONTENT Gloves it is a ready to drink milk that has undergone through sterilization process.

INTRO MATERIALS PROCEDURE RESULT CONCLUSION CONTENT both of them are used to protect the skin from potential hazard inside the laboratory. Gloves & Lab Gown

INTRO MATERIALS PROCEDURE RESULT CONCLUSION CONTENT First, we gathered all the materials needed for the experiments such as pH meter, dropper ,gloves, lab gown, beaker, litmus paper, milk, vinegar and pepsi . Second, we prepared three beakers to hold the different solutions. Then, we calibrated the pH meter to 6.7. Process:

INTRO MATERIALS PROCEDURE RESULT CONCLUSION CONTENT After that ,we put 90ml of each solution into a perspective breaker Next , we submerged the pH meter in each solution for 3 minutes. All the pH meter reading in every solution was recorded Lastly, we proceeded to litmus paper testing in each solution. The observed response and changes in color of the red and blue litmus paper to the solutions were recorded. Process:

INTRO MATERIALS PROCEDURE RESULT CONCLUSION CONTENT

INTRO MATERIALS PROCEDURE RESULT CONCLUSION CONTENT CONCLUSION This activity was conducted to determined the pH scale of Pepsi, Milk and Vinegar in terms of pH Meter Reading and Litmus Paper Testing. The findings of the case study led to the formulation of the subsequent conlusion This activity underscores the potential effects of the Pepsi and Vinegar as acidic liquids on our bodies
