We come to this question: Are these
worthy to be conserved?
• As we all know, our ecosystems are being destroyed by us, humans and many of us
still don’t seem to pay much attention to it.
• For example, for Singapore our land reclamation projects have caused the
waterways between Singapore and Malaysia to become narrower, thus affecting the
biodiversity as the water current flows faster
• However, without these activities being carried out, we are unable to satisfy our
growing needs as our population increases
• We are then forced to make the choice if it really is worth it to save the biodiversity
out there
Reasons for conserving
• Every organism is part and parcel of the ecosystem, which means that the lesser
biodiversity there is the less variety of food we have in that sense
• We will also never be able to appreciate these biodiversity once they disappear from
the face of the earth
• Affecting the natural systems would definitely affect us one way or another for
example global warming due to deforestation, in which the trees, also part of the
ecosystem, are being burnt down in large quantities
• By researching the rich biodiversity that is still on the face of the earth, we may find
many new things in which may help us in one way or another like finding a chemical
in a plant that is able to cure an incurable disease in the past

Ways to conserve
• Be careful when interacting with biodiversity as it might affect them in one way or
another
• Keep the sea/lakes/ponds clean
• Do not destroy the habitats of the animals
• As much as possible prevent animals from being extinct as with a missing animal in
the food chain, the food chain would definitely be affected greatly
• Try as much as possible not to pollute resources such as air and water as not only
our lives depend on it, it also plays a very important role for the survival of the
biodiversity
Conclusion
• With so many ways and reasons to protect these animals, why not make the effort
• We will never get the chance to meet extinct animals again and so we should try our
best to protect the animals
• We should pay more attention to the rich biodiversity around us
• Why wait? Every second counts! On average, 137 species become extinct everyday;
or 50,000 every year!
