1. Biomes
Biomes are land areas that have similar characteristics like climate, plants, animals etc. The most commonly
accepted biomes that exist on the Earth are Tundra, Desert, Grassland, Tropical Rain Forest, Deciduous Forest,
and Coniferous Forest.
DESERTS
The desert is a dry and hot place with very little rainfall. Animals found here include Lizards, Gila monsters,
Tortoises, Toads, Snakes, Coyotes, Javalinas, Bob cat, Big horn sheep and many more. Plants here include
varieties of Cacti, Yucca, Palo Verde andthe Joshua tree.
Since deserts have very little water and food, they have fewer clusters of animals compared to other biomes.
We live in the Desert biome.

TUNDRA
A Tundra is a cold ecosystem which is found near the northern part of the earth. This area has very long and cold
winter and a short but cool summer. So the animals and plants in this area have to adapt to the cold, harsh
winter. The animals found here include polar bears, seals, arctic foxes, arctic hares and many other animals that
can find food and live in this very cold area. Many of these animals have white fur to help them camouflage in
the snow.
In the summer the tundra is covered by beautiful flowers and lakes from frozen ice. Animals come to the lakes
to drink water.
GRASSLANDS
Grassland biomes have few trees and large areas of grass. A large variety of small and large animals live in the
grasslands includingthe American bison, Deer, Rabbits, weasels, Fox, Hocks, Mice and Snakes. Plants there
include Grass, Lily, Wild burden not and Golden rod

2. TEMPERATE DECIDUOUS FOREST
The temperate deciduous forest grows in the eastern united states and also in a small area in the west side of
the United States. In the temperate deciduous forest there are four seasons spring summer autumn and winter.
Maple,hickory and oak trees are the most common trees. There is a large variety of small and big animals that
live here. These include worms, bugs, chipmunks, snakes, rabbits, frog, salamander, squirrels, deer, cougars,
black bears and more. Birds likeblue jays, woodpeckers and owls also live here. The most common plants here
are ferns, mosses and bluebells.
