WATER Natural Sciences Technology Social Sciences LIFE AND LIVING Definition of water – It is a colourless, transparent and odourless liquid with the chemical elements of hydrogen and oxygen. It is the basis of the fluids of living organisms. Source of water- water comes from rain, rivers, reservoirs and the ground and goes through the water cycle. Importance of water- Water prevents all living organisms from becoming dehydrated. It also helps the brain and human body function optimally. States of water- water exists in the gas liquid and solid forms, however on earth majority is in liquid form (Chaplin 2001). Things that live in water- a lot of things like plants and animals live in water STRUCTURE Types of water transport- boats, ships, yachts Uses - we can use boats as transport. We can also use ships to transport goods on water (Hornell 2015). Make a boat that floats using paper Measurement and capacity- water is measured in litres or millilitres and tends to take the shape of the container Water mixtures - Water can be mixed with powders and other liquids to change its colour and texture (Pipe 2015).
