BLEACHING   Bleach   - generic name for any chemical product used   industrially  and  domestically  to whiten clothes. P rocess  of whitening fibres or fabrics or depriving a coloured material. B y using various  bleaching -agents .

BLEACHING AIM – Is to transfer of coloured substances into uncoloured substances. EFFECTS Degree of whiteness – High & stable Enough for intend use Fabric – no damage Absorptive capacity – High & Uniform.

OBJECTIVES Removal of coloured impurities Minimum tendering of fibre Technically reliable Simple mode of operation Low energy consumption Increase the degree of whiteness.

BLEACH GOODS When cloth has been bleached for finishing ,it is called as BLEACH GOODS .

TYPES OXIDATIVE BLEACHING Chemical reagent Decompose ( Alkali solution ) Active Oxygen Intrinsic bleaching agent – Destroy colouring matter Partially / completely.

CONTD., REDUCTIVE BLEACHING Colouring matter Reducing agent Colourless material Re oxidization – C olour may be stored in the material

BLEACHING AGENT compounds used to remove colour from substances (Textiles). An   agent  that makes things white or colourless. OTHER NAMES Blanching agent , whitener ,   B leach .
