World Blood Donor day was established by the WHO in 2004, to raise awareness about the importance of safe blood donation and blood product. To thank blood donor for their voluntary life saving gifts of blood. The date,14 th June was chosen to the birthday of Karl Landsteiner , who discover the ABO blood group system. The first world blood donor day was celebrated on 14 th June 2005. ABOUT THE DAY

Blood is not just a red liquid it is a complex mixture of 55% plasma and 45% of formed element BLOOD
