WHO IS
BENJAMIN BLOOM?
(February 21, 1913 - September 13, 1999)
was an American educational
psychologist who made significant
contributions to the classification of
educational objectives and the theory
of mastery learning.
developed a "taxonomy of educational
objectives" which classified the
different learning objectives and
skills that educators set for students.

BLOOM’S REVISED
TAXONOMY
The revised taxonomy was
created in 2001 by David
Krathwohl and Lorin Anderson, a
former student of Benjamin
Bloom, the original creator of
the taxonomy. The revision made
several changes, including:
Replacing nouns with action
verbs, Swapping the two highest
levels of the taxonomy, and
Dropping the term "synthesis.

DAVID KRATHWOHL
BACKGROUND:
Krathwohl was a professor of
education and a researcher
known for his contributions
to the field of educational
psychology.
CONTRIBUTION:
one of the original co-
authors (along with Benjamin
Bloom) of the Bloom's
Taxonomy of Educational
Objectives in 1956.

LORIN ANDERSON
BACKGROUND:
an educational psychologist who worked
with David Krathwohl on the revision
of Bloom's Taxonomy.
CONTRIBUTION:
one of the key contributors to the 2001
revision of Bloom's Taxonomy.
he helped update the language and structure
of the taxonomy, making it more relevant
for modern educational contexts.
