Sadness is defined as
having grief, sorrow, or
unhappiness. Sad feelings are
also a part of depression and
related to other parts of
depression including poor self-
worth, poor sleep, and difficulty
enjoying things.

Overcome Sadness by Rumination is when you
get stuck in your head, thinking about all the
negative stuff that has gone wrong or could go
wrong. Rumination is a key feature of depression
and contributes to so much unnecessary sad
feelings. That's why beating rumination is an
important first step to getting through sadness.
To stop the rumination, try engaging your body
in some activity that is intense enough that you
can't think for a few minutes. For example, you
could do sprints or take an ice-cold shower. This
shock can stop your brain from cycling and force
it to focus on the present moment

Imagine a bright future, not a gloomy future
If something has happened to us to make us sad,
we might become sadness-prone—only thinking
about the worst things that could happen. It's
common because we feel like if we think
through these bad outcomes, we can better
prepare. But it just makes us feel worse in the
long run. Our sadness can snowball into feeling
all sorts of other negative emotions.
So try to imagine a brighter future, even if only
in an exercise to help your brain break through
sad feelings. Here's an exercise to imagine future
happiness.

Joy is one of the core emotions
➢ Joy can be cultivated from
tiny moments.
➢ Experiencing positive
emotions is a practice.
➢ The body is the key to
expanding our capacity for
joy.

• Joy makes us want to play, expand
our curiosity, and connect with
others.

• Joy lessens the time spent in negative
mood states and helps us
physiologically recover from negative
states more rapidly.

• Through deeply felt experiences of
joy, people increase their creativity,
knowledge, and resilience.

Control anger before
it controls you
Anger can make you feel
as though you’re at the
mercy of an unpredictable
and powerful emotion.

Here are 10 powerful ways
you can overcome a bad
mood or anger:

• Acknowledge what you're
feeling
• Step back and ask, "Why?"

• Practice assuming positive
intent
• Exercise and smile
• Eat
• Practice mindfulness
• Use visual reminders
• Call a friend
• Let it go symbolically
• Seek help if needed

Eliminating Fear Involves Learning
These 7 Skills:
1. Learn to trust yourself-trust that you will
make good decisions, research and learn what
you need and if you make a mistake you can
correct it.
2. Take ownership of your life-Taking purposeful
action rather than reacting to events.
3. Identify the components of your
fear. (Rejection, failure, so on).
4. Neutralize the above components. Know and
trust that If one of those things happen you can

deal with it or you can find help with it. Don't
suffer it before it has happened.
5. Build your self-esteem. Learn to like yourself.
You forgive mistakes by others, why not
yourself?
6. Know that you can learn whatever you need to
succeed at what you are afraid of-whether they
are practical skills or emotional skills, you can
master them if necessary.
7. Believe at your very core that this can be
done. This is not just for other people. This is for
you. You are just as good as the next person.

Everyone has fear. It is how you
deal with it that matters.
Allowing it to limit you is a life
suck. Seeing it as a challenge
that needs to be overcome and
making a plan for it empowers
you and puts you in control of
your life.
