8. Review of the book:
The book is written keeping in mind the Nirbhaya Incident as its prologue.
Ravinder Singh had taken clue and weaved a beautiful and touching love story which
takes birth in DU campus. The story revolves round a girl from Patna who comes to study
in one of the prestigious colleges of DU as first year student and a student leader from
second year whose motive is to win election of student union so to fight against the
reservation and admission fraud on the name of reservation.
The Girl in the story is shown bold and courageous who sacrifices her dreams to fulfil
the right cause and get the justice to the lady peon of the college. Against a dominant
professor with political backing.
She makes a video on her mobile and makes it public with the help of her friends
anonymously and later on advice of her friend’s father lodges FIR against the professor.
The meeting between the student leader and girl is well projected through the
continuous incidents and later meeting for cause.
The issue of spending leaves alone in college due to family problem. The regular
meeting with the student leader and discussions on various topics bring both closer and
they start missing each other.
The innocent proposal by the girl changes their life and they become one soul.
The girl actively participates in upbringing the image of the party by social media and
suggests various means to bridge the gap between the factions of students.
The writer has covered number of burning issues in one story for example issues of
north eastern people in Delhi, reservation, corruption in admission and exploitation of
lower class and political influence in student politics.
He has brought out the influence of political stature and how the professor involved
in admission fraud and molestation of college lady staff escapes from the jail on bail for
political gains who later hires the goons to kidnap the girl to win the election. He orders
to take revenge and the girl was raped by the group of goons and left to die where she
leaves for heavenly abode.
The very sad part of the writing had been written so well that the reader feels it is
happening in front of his eyes and shown the eternal love between both the student
leader and the girl who founds her lying in isolated place.
He brings her body and calls her parents to meet her departing girl. He owes her and
fights against the system and put the professor behind the bar.
He wins the election but he remains always with her in his thoughts.
9. Lessons Learnt.
(a) A beautiful love story which faces tragedy in the end. But a cause is more
important than own comfort and life.
(b) It tells us to fight for other’s rights and against the wrong and evil practices.
(c) Fighting for a cause is always correct and people support it.
(d) Use of social media. It is a double-edged weapon can be used for good as well
as wrong things.
(e) In today’s world also all the relations on materialistic some are still have the
feeling. The eternal love between the two is symbol of that.
10. Conclusion.
The story is weaved with emotions and incidents which changes the life of a
small-town girl into a leader and her bold actions bring a powerful professor behind
the bars. She loses her battle of life but her initiation won lastly.
The book is worth reading once to take away good lessons.
