MORPHOLOGY Square and erect growing stems. Grow to about 100 cm (tall varieties) and to 30 cm (dwarf varieties). Pod borne in clusters (5-7 pods) in axil of leaves which are 15 cm long and 2 cm thick. Flowers are pollinated by insects.
VARIETIES
Pusa sumeet – improved variety of Broad Bean , IARI New Delhi. Masterpiece White Long Pod, Masterpiece Green Long Pod, Imperial White Windsor and Imperial Green Windsor are some of the introduced varieties. Jawahar Selection 73-31 is an improved selection from Madhya Pradesh. A few selections made at Bihar are BR-1 (black seeded) and BR-2 (yellow seeded). VARIETIES….
