BTech Project Part I CVD 411 (4 credits) CVD 411 is a Core Course Can be taken in Semester 7 or 8 However, those who wish to go for Part 2 should complete Part 1 in Semester 7 itself Only if you score a Grade B or above, you can do Part 2 of the BTP Courtesy: Prof. Arun Kumar

BTP Allocation Phase I: Identify your area of interest (theory/practical) Identify 4-5 faculty members in that area (check the faculty profiles in Civil department website) Email/meet/talk to them, interact with them and discuss about project area/topic. You may also identify some topic and discuss the relevance and viability of that topic. Email info to me by July 31 st , 2023 Do a small literature review about the topics yourself – Prioritize topics discussed

BTP Allocation Phase II: Fill the project proposal form (you will get soft copy)

BTP Allocation Phase II: Contact the probable supervisor and talk to them. Fill in the scope and work to be done in consultation with your prospective supervisor. Form must be forwarded by the supervisor to Convenor, B.Tech. Project latest by July 31st, 2021 by 5.00PM. [email protected]

BTP Allocation Phase III: Students who have failed to identify and finalize a topic No form reaches BTP convener by due date Supervisor will be allotted by the BTP committee Random Supervisor & topic may not be from area of interest Will be done by Aug 6 th , 2023 It is always better to start projects with an initial literature review of the allotted topic ASAP

Evaluation scheme Total Marks: 300 Contributions: Supervisor(s) – 90 (every month evaluation due) Report Evaluation – 90 By Report Evaluation Committee (report to be submitted by last week of semester) Viva-voce – 120 By Viva-voce Committee (Viva – last week of semester)

Evaluation scheme Supervisor’s Marks Supervisor(s) will evaluate the work done by the students and award marks for each of the following three period: Period 1 ( duration to be announced ): 20 Marks Period 2 ( duration to be announced ): 20 Marks Period 3 ( duration to be announced ): 50 Marks

Evaluation scheme Last dates for submitting the evaluation forms for periods 1, 2 and 3 shall be announced. Kindly note that evaluation forms received after deadline will not be considered and zero mark will be assigned for the corresponding period. Students are advised to remind their supervisors to submit the evaluation forms before deadline.

Evaluation scheme Report Evaluation Guidelines for report preparation will be circulated; Strictly follow the guidelines; Show the final report to your supervisor and get it corrected; Implement all corrections before final submission No PLAGIARISM; Follow all academic ethics Make sure to submit on or before due date; Reports without your supervisor marks will not be accepted for evaluation Late submission: Reduction of 25% in total report marks per day delay in submission Hence, report will be given zero marks, if submitted 4 days after due date Submission of report is a must to give viva-voce Compulsory to have marks form all components to get credit

Evaluation scheme Viva-Voce Start with an introduction; a brief literature review explaining the motivation to take up this topic State clearly the objectives of your study Proceed to the methodology, data, etc Explain and discuss the results obtained. Finish the talk with valid conclusions Practice the talk ahead so that you can complete within the allotted time (usually 5-10 mins only)

You can do BTP Part 2 (CVD 412) only if you score a Grade B or above in BTP Part 1 (CVD 411)
