Statistics – Measures of Central Tendency and Dispersion Group 8 Class 2B Muhammad Dwiky Ardiyanto (12050417307) Jurusan Matematika Fak. Sains dan Teknologi Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim
Measures of Central Tendency Mean Median Mode value that occure most frequently central value of an ordered data average of the all values
Example Data of 15 random student: 6 5 7 6 8 7 4 9 10 6 6 7 8 7 6 Mean: μ = ΣX / N = Sum of all entries / Number of entries = 120 / 5 = 20,4 Mode: 6 has the greatest frequency (5), hence the mode is 6. Median: 4 5 6 6 6 6 6 7 7 7 7 8 8 9 10. 7 at the middle of the ordered data, so the mean is 7.
Measures of Dispersion Range Variance Standard Deviation measures the average devation between a value and the mean measures the average variability among value difference between largest and smallest value
