Core function of a business

Human Resource. The human resource of a business are its employee. Wise organization look after their staff on the basis that they are well trained and committed to the aims of the business, the organization is more likely to be successful.

Human Resource Function. Advertising job vacancies. Notifying staff of promotion opportunities. Arranging Interviews and notifying candidates of their results. Checking health and safety and keeping accident records. Monitoring the working conditions of staff.

Finance and Accounting. Most businesspersons consider this is the most important function in the business. This is because all businesses need a regular stream of income to pay the bills. Finance staff record all the money earned and spent so that the senior manager always know how much profit or loss is being made by each product or each part of the business and how much money is currently held by the business.

Finance and Accounting Function. Recording money received. Checking and paying invoice received. Producing invoices, checking payments are received and chasing up overdue payments. Preparing the payroll and paying staff salaries. Producing the statutory (Legal or Constitutional) accounts each year.

Sales Sales are a crucial function for all business. It is pointless having superb products or services if no one buys them. For that reason, most businesses have sales targets as part of their aims and objectives. Meeting these is the responsibility of the sales staff or sales man.

Customer Service Function. Answering customer enquiries about products and services. Solving customer problems. Help to customer. Dealing with customer complaints and resolve problems. Using customer feedback to improve customer service and satisfaction.

Administration Administration is a support function required by all businesses-and this does not mean just doing keyboarding or filing. Senior administrators carry out a wide range of tasks, from monitoring budgets to interviewing new staff for their departments.

Administration function Collecting, distributing and dispatching the mail. Organizing meeting and preparing meeting documents. Responding promptly to enquiries. Researching information. Making travel arrangements. Purchasing supplies of office stationery and equipment.

Marketing A marketing department promotes your business. Marketing is about identifying and understanding your customers and developing products and services that meet their needs. Marketing is important across many areas of your business, including how your customers are greeted on the phone, your customer service procedures, what your staff wear, and your email signature.

Marketing function Advertising. Transporting. Storing. Direct Making. Product Placement.

Production Production staff must ensure that goods are produced on time and are of the right quality. The production department is responsible for converting inputs into outputs through the stages of production processes.
