INTRODUCTION TO MANAGEMENT Management is the process of activities that are carried out to enable an enterprise to accomplish its goals and objectives. Management is the process of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling resources . Resources like people, money, time, and materials to achieve specific goals efficiently and effectively.

THE PROCESS OF MANEGEMENT Process of management refers to the set of core functions that managers perform to achieve organizational goals efficiently and effectively. It involves planning, organizing, leading and controlling resources Including people, finances and information. 1 .Planning Deciding in advance what needs to be done , how , when and by whom. Key Activities : Setting objectives :Identifying resource

3. Leading Guiding and motivating employees to meet the organization’s objectives. Key Activities : Communicating effectively : Motivating and inspiring staff 2. Organizing Arranging resources and task in a structured way to accomplish the plan. DIFFERENT LEVELS AND FUNCTIONAL AREAS OF MANAGDEMENT ON THE BUSINESS Top level Management This level of management is responsible for structuring or forming ways of how the business will operate. All big decisions of a business is taken by them. Top level management includes board directors , managing directors and general managers. Middle management This level of management act as a middle person between top and lower management. Their role is to compile statistical report for top level. For example Supervisors Lower level/Frontline management This level connect middle management and workers. It also ensures that the production process is done efficiently. They assign duties to individual workers. e.g Managers

Marketing management: Product development, promotion, sales Financial management: Budgeting, forecasting, investments Human resource management: Recruitment, training, employee relations Operations management: Production, logistics, supply chain Functional Areas of Management
