An "I" converts to an "IF" if the required work is not completed
within one year or, for graduating seniors, prior to the last day of classes.
A grade preceded by a “T” indicates a transfer course.
Academic Forgiveness is indicated by an AF before the grade for which
Academic Forgiveness was granted. Academic Forgiveness may be
granted to students that have left the University for a period of 4 years. If
the student returns and earns at least a 2.00 in their first 12 credits, they
may be considered for Academic Forgiveness. The grade points for
below average coursework earned before the 4 year break will be
excluded from the computation of the grade point average; however, no
grades will be physically removed from the transcript.
An E indicates the course has been repeated and will not be included in
GPA calculations or earned credits.
CALCULATION OF GRADE POINT AVERAGE (GPA)
To calculate a grade point average (GPA), the total number of quality
points earned in regular courses at the University are divided by the total
number of GPA hours. The following are not included in the GPA:
courses transferred from other N o n-P A S S H E institutions; advanced
placement courses; courses passed by examination; courses in which a
"P" grade was assigned; CLEP and DANTES credits or credits granted
for military service. If a course is repeated, only the repeat grade is
counted. If a course is challenged by examination, only grades of "P" or
"F" will be recorded. A grade of "F" assigned under the pass/fail
challenge option is counted in the GPA. The student is in good
academic standing unless otherwise stated. “C-“ and "D" grades are
not assigned in the Graduate School.
