✅ AMOUNT Get well soon 3 x day ✅ DOSAGE REACTION

LEARNING TARGETS Determine formula and molecular masses ; and Calculate the percent composition by mass of substances.

Molar mass The Molar Mass, also known as Molecular Weight , is the mass of one mole of a substance, typically expressed in grams per mole (g/mol). It represents the sum of the atomic masses of all the atoms in a given molecule.

Molar mass Molar mass is the weight of one mole of a chemical substance. A mole is a unit in chemistry that quantifies the amount of a substance, and it corresponds to Avogadro's number, 6.022×10 23 entities (atoms, molecules, ions, etc.).   Hydrogen - 1.01 g/mol x 2 atoms = 2.02 Oxygen - 16.00 g/mol x 1 atom Molar mass H 2 = 2.02 g/mol + 16.00 g/mol = 18.02 g/mol.

Calculating the Molar Mass of Al 2 (SO 4 )3 Substance # of Atom Atomic Mass Molar Mass Aluminum 2 27 g/mol 54 g/mol Sulfur 3 32 g/mol 96 g/mol Oxygen 12 16 g/mol 192 g/mol x +___________ = Molar Mass of Aluminum Sulphate : 342 g/mol

Mass Percent The percentage by mass of each element or component in a compound or mixture. It's a way to express the proportion of each element or component relative to the total mass. Find the Molar Mass of the Compound : Calculate the total molar mass by summing the molar masses of all the elements in the compound. Calculate the Mass of Each Element : Multiply the atomic mass of each element by the number of atoms of that element in the compound. Calculate Percent Composition : Use the formula: Mass Percent x 100%
