Carvidon MR (Trimetazidine Hydrochloride Tablets) is used
to treat angina pectoris or chest pain caused by coronary
disease in adult patient, in combination with other
medicines. Angina Pectoris is pain arising from the heart
muscle when it does not receive enough oxygen. Carvidon
MR protects the heart cells from the effects of a reduced
oxygen supply during an episode of angina.

The active ingredient contained in Carvidon
MR is Trimetazidine Hydrochloride. Each
tablet of Carvidon MR contains 35 mg or 60
mg of Trimetazidine HCl.

Carvidon MR (Trimetazidine Hydrochloride
Tablets) is used in adult patients as add-on
therapy for the symptomatic treatment of
patients with stable angina pectoris who are
inadequately controlled by or intolerant to
first-line antianginal therapies.
This medicine may also used for long term
treatment of coronary insufficiency.

➢The recommended adult dose is one tablet
of 35 mg of Trimetazidine twice daily during
meals. The benefit of the treatment should
be assessed after three months and
therapy must be discontinued if there is no
treatment response.

Carvidon MR (Trimetazidine Tablets)
have to be stored at controlled room
temperature i.e. from 20°C to 25°C (68°F
to 77°F) with excursions permitted
between 15° to 30°C (59° to 86°F).
Keep this as well as all other medicines
away from children and pets.

Carvidon MR (Trimetazidine Tablets) is not
a cure for angina attacks and should not be
used as a treatment for unstable angina or
heart attack.
In the event of an angina attack, tell your
doctor. Your treatment should be re-
evaluated.
This medicine can cause or worsen
symptoms such as trembling, rigid posture,
slow movements and a shuffling, unbalanced
walk, especially in elderly patients, which
should be investigated and reported to your
doctor who could reassess the treatment.

can make you feel dizzy and drowsy
that may affect your ability to drive or
use machinery.
Carvidon MR is not recommended in
children aged below 18 years.

Contraindications
Carvidon MR is contraindicated in patients with
a hypersensitivity to Trimetazidine Hydrochloride
or any other component of this medication.
This medicine is also contraindicated in patients
with Parkinson disease, parkinsonian symptoms,
tremors, restless leg syndrome, and other related
movement disorders and in cases of Severe renal
impairment

➢Carvidon MR (Trimetazidine Hydrochloride Tablets) side effects
can include the following:
➢Common:Dizziness, headache, abdominal pain, diarrhoea,
indigestion, feeling sick, vomiting, rash, itching, hives and feeling
of weakness.
➢Rare: Fast or irregular heartbeats (also called palpitations), extra
heartbeats,faster heartbeat, fall in blood pressure on standing-up
which causes dizziness, light headiness or fainting, malaise
(generally feeling unwell), dizziness, fall, flushing.
➢Not known: Extrapyramidal symptoms, usually reversible after
treatment discontinuation. Sleep disorders, constipation, serious
generalised red skin rash with blistering, swelling of the face, lips,
mouth, tongue or throat which may cause difficulty in swallowing
or breathing. Severe reduction in number of white blood cells
which makes infections more likely, reduction in blood platelets,
which increases risk of bleeding or bruising. A liver disease.

In the case of Trimetazidine overdose, the
treatment must be symptomatic.

Trimetazidine Hydrochloride (Carvidon MR
tablets) has been classified by the US FDA
as Pregnancy Category C.
It is preferable not to take Carvidon MR
(Trimetazidine Hydrochloride Tablets)
during pregnancy or breast feeding.
In case you are pregnant or breast-
feeding, think you may be pregnant or are
planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or
pharmacist for advice before taking this
medicine
