Established in 1952 for island-wide distribution of apparel and
haberdashery, "Cassims" commenced representing textile machinery
manufacturers in 1969 as country representatives for the Bentley Group
in England; promoting knitting & hosiery technologies.

5. “CASSIMS” was founded by Mr.
Cassim who hailed from the Southern
Province of Sri Lanka and was inspired
by the trading & manufacturing
opportunities in haberdashery &
textiles, in the bustling city of Colombo

11. The company has largely followed the evolution of the textile
industry in Sri Lanka during these 70 years & progressed to
new industrial technologies during the past decade with a
continued focus on manufacturing technologies & solutions
for the textile industry.
Cassims International‘s Textile Machinery team,
provides technology and expertise that enable
textile technologists and engineers to investigate,
control, innovate and construct world class textile
products.

These systems range from assessment or
measurement devices for fabric testing or quality
control, through to advanced manufacturing
systems for textile substrates including that for
processing of yarns, knits, wovens, narrow fabrics,
dyeing, printing, finishing and automation controls.

Development
Since 1998 under the technological leadership of a dynamic and renewed
team, the company has moved into exciting and new growth projects with
industry consultancy leadership in the Sri Lankan textile industry, specifically
in textile Knitting, Dyeing and Finishing industries, as well as in the vast
textile testing sector.
