2. CEFIXIME CLASS - 3 rd generation cephalosporin Mode of Action -The bactericidal action of cephalosporin due to the inhibition of cell wall synthesis .

CEFIXIME Use - to treat infections caused by bacteria. - Ear (otitis media caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis,S. pyogenes.) sinuses (sinusitis), Throat (tonsillitis, pharyngitis caused by S. pyogenes), Chest and lungs (bronchitis, pneumonia caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae) Urinary system and Uncomplicated gonorrhea caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

4. CEFIXIME Adverse drug reactions- diarrhea dyspepsia nausea vomiting Hypersensitivity reactions like skin rashes, utricaria, Stevens-Johnson syndrome. There is no specific  antidote for cefixime overdosage. Gastric lavage may performed .
