4. temperature definition the measure of the degree of hotness or coldness of a body with respect to some standard is called the temperature of a body.

5. Thermometer An instrument used for measuring temperature is called ‘thermometer’. There are three types of thermometer, 1) mercury thermometer. 2) clinical thermometer. 3) alcohol thermometer.

6. Thermometric scales Definition The scales which are used for the measurement of temperature are known as thermometric scales. There are three different scales, Celsius or centigrade scales. fahrenhiet scales. Kelvin or absolute scales.

7. Celsius or centigrade scales This scale was invented by a swedish scientist named ‘ indre celsius ’ . In this scale, the ice fixed point is o° c . The stream fixed point is 100 °c AT STANDARD PRESSURE . THE INTERVAL BETWEEN THESE TWO FIXED POINTS IS DIVIDED INTO 100 EQUAL PARTS (DIVISIONS) . EACH DIVISION ON THE SCALE IS CALLED ONE DEGREE CENTIGRADE .

8. IT IS DENOTED BY ‘ °C ’. MORE SENSITIVE THERMOMETER HAVE 200 DIVISION BETWEEN THE STANDARD POINTS . EACH EQUATION IS EQUAL TO ½ °C. THESE THERMOMETER IS CALLED HALF DEGREE CELSIUS TERMOMETER . ‘this IS THE END OF MY TOPIC’.
