What is Communication
Introduction
• Process whereby a message, or an
idea, or
attitude or emotion is transmitted and
received by the receiver as intended
by the
sender.

•Simplified expression (in graphic
form) of a piece of reality.
This model expresses
what occurs when a
message is sent.
The Communication
Process
• All forms of communication are about
sending and receiving messages.
• Sender of the message must be clear
and
the message must be sent using the
most
appropriate method of
communication if
it is to be received accurately.
• Any disruptions to the process will
result
in break-down in communication.

Sender
• Is the source of information.

What is transmitter?
•Mode of sending the message.
Receiver
• To whom the message, idea, attitude or emotion is
sent.
Channel
• Is the route the message takes in order to reach the
receiver.
Feedback
• Is the response given by the receiver and lets the
sender know whether
the message has been received as intended or
whether it has been
unsuccessful.
