T. P. Kailasam Born – 1884 Died - 1946 He was father of mordant Kennard drama. He was the prominent writer of Kannad literature.
About play The Purpose highlight Eklavya’s ambition The play deviled into two act. In the play two main characters like Arjune and Eklavya. Both are best archer ,both are student of Guru Dronacharya. Eklavya was tragic hero in the play.
Arjune Arjune was a hero of this play. Arjune is one of the son of Pandava. He belongs to royal family. He has the aim to become worlds number one archer.
Eklavya Eklavya’s character is considered important in the Purpose. Ekavya is a lowborn hero. He really likes the teach Guru Dronacharya but he knows he belongs to lower class.
T P Kailasam’s The Purpose is biased on ‘Mahabharata’. In the Mahabharata highlight the character of Arjuna but in The Purpose highlight the character of Eklavya. Kailasam tried to high-light something which in original myth was neglected.
When Guru knows Eklavya is also best archer. Eklavya give his thumb to Drone but at the end repents because it become burls in Purpose. Kailasam tried to gave justice to Eklavya’s character.
