From the above mentioned point .I will now explain the process of listening . The 5 step listening provided in it helps to make the listening easy . Receiving Receiving means to get or accept something that some body sends or gives to you . The first stage of the listening process is The receiving stage which involves hearing and attending . Hearing : is the physiological process or registering sound waves as they hit the eardrum. Attending : the process of accurately identifying particular sounds and words .
2. Understanding Understanding means the knowledge that somebody has of a particular subject or situation . It is the stage at which you learn what the speaker means . The thoughts and emotional ton. In The understanding stage .we attempt to learn the meaning of the massage which is not always easy .for one thing it a speaker dose not pronunciation clearly it may be difficult to tell what the message was. 3. Remembering Remembering means to have something in your mind or to bring something back into your mind . Remembering is important to process of listening because it means that an individual has not only received and interpreted a message but has also added it to the mind’s storage bank . But Just as our attention is selective so too is our memory what is remembered may be quite different from what was originally seen or heard . 4.Evaluating Evaluating means to study the facts and then form an opinion about something . It consists of judging the messages in some way .at times you may try to evaluate the speaker’ underlying itention or motives . Often this evaluation process goes on without much conscious awareness.
5.Responding Responding means to say or do some thing as an answer or reaction to something . The responding stage is when the listener provides verbal and nonverbal reactions to what she hears . The speaker looks for responses from The listener To determine if her message is being understood and Considered. When a listener responds verbally to what she hears the speaker Or listener Roles are reversed.
