Chemical composition and protein quality of BSF larvae reared with different media in Lombok I Ketut Gede Wiryawan Irham Hafiz Mandiling
Introduction Maggot BSF Material & Methods Results and Discussion Conclusion
Introduction BSFL is characterized by its easy production system, rapid growth, ability to efficiently convert organic waste, and contains high protein BSF larvae reared The quality of several insects as animal feed ingredientsis good and can replace 25-100% soybean meal or fish meal, depending on the type of livestock. Black soldier fly ( Hermetia illucens ) larvae (BSFL), is interesting.
Introduction So, it is a potential source of dietary protein and energy As a feed ingredient BSFL contains quite high protein, reaching 65% of its dry weight ( Lan et al 2022 ), and fat content reaches 12% as fed bases ( Purnamasari et al., 2023; Sumiati et al., 2022) The nutrient content of BSFL is greatly influenced by the media in which it grows. A study was conducted to evaluate the protein quality and metabolic energy value of BSFL produced with different media on the island of Lombok.
Research Materials BSFL collected from 3 farms rearing the with different media 24 three-weeks old unsexed broiler chicken, chemicals for lab analysis Lab works for Chemical composition Protein digestibility and ME value Twenty-four-three-week-old, unsexed broiler chickens were used to evaluate the Apparent total tract digestibility coefficient (ATTGC) of on nutrient and Apparent metabolizable energy (AME) value of BSFL raised with different media Materials and methods Research methods Data Analyses
Research Procedure The size of metabolic cage : 45 x 35 x 30 cm.

Conclusion BSFL is a potential source of dietary energy and protein with high protein digestibility ranging from 72.78 to 78.67%. high chemical score for lysine and threonine, but deficient in sulphur-containing amino acids and tryptophan, and for poultry with AME value varied between 5447 t0 6085 Kcal/kg,
