1. TENSE PRESENT TENSE This tense expresses actions done as a matter of habit, or actions done repeatedly. Ex. I meet him at the bus stop everyday. 2. It expresses universal truth. Ex . Light weight objects float on the water. 3. To express permanent situation Ex. My father works in a bank.

2. Note - We often use words like ususlly , generally, everyday,always , often, sometimes with this tense. Structure of present Tense (Positive) Singular sub +V1+s/ es / ies +……… Plural sub +V1+……. Ex - He prays, She prays, Sonali prays I pray, You pray, Boys pray

3. Structure of Present Tense (Negative) Singular sub+does not+V1+……. Plural sub+do not+V1+…… Ex – He does not live near my house. Ex – I do not go to school by bus .

4. Structure of Interrogative sentences Does + singular sub+ V1+……..? Do + Plural sub + V1+ …….? EX – Does Shailja help her mother ? Ex - Do they go to school on Sundays ?

5. Questions beginning with a question word ( what,why,when,how etc.) Question word +do /does /+ sub+V1+……..? Ex – How does Shailja help her mother ? Why do they go to school on Sundays ?
