Common cybercrime in Nepal 1. Identity theft An attack that occurs when an individual accesses a computer to gather a users personal information which they use to steal that persons identity or access their valuable accounts such as banking and credit cards. 2. Crypto jacking An attack that uses scripts to mine cryptocurrencies within browsers without the users consent. 3. What is ETA? - Samir Dhami • The objective of this Act is to ensure the reliability and security of electronic transactions including the control of unauthorized use of electronic records or alteration in such records through illegal manner. • The Electronic Transactions Act, 2006 (“Act”) came into effect on 02 September 2006.
Provisions of ETA 2063 • It has the provision relating to electronic records and digital signature. • It has the provision relating to dispatch, receive an acknowledgment of electronic records. • It has the provision of few regulating bodies and their functions, rights, and duties such as – Office of Certificate Control (OCC) – Certification Agencies (CA) – Subscriber • It has the provision relating the use of digital signature and certificate.
Electronic Transaction Act 2063 SUMMARY It's a law in Nepal that makes electronic transactions, papers, and signatures legal.
