10. Life in the temperate Zone The animals and plants found in this zone are different from the ones found in the Torrid zone. The climate is favourable.

11. There are two types of vegetation in the temperate zone: Grasslands Forests Deserts: Gobi desert in Asia Atacama Desert in south America

13. Forests These forests are of two kinds- Deciduous and Coniferous Deciduous Forests Have trees that shed their leaves in winter and regrow them in spring eg : maple, walnut oak Coniferous Forests have cone-shaped trees which grow close to each other at a uniform level. Eg : Fir pine cedar
