8. The Parts of a Function To work correctly, a function must be written in a specific way, which is called syntax. The basic syntax for a function is as follows: A. Equal sign ( = ) indicates that what follows is a function

9. B. Function name (example: SUM) indicates the operation that will be performed. C. Argument (example: A1:H1 ) contains the information that you want to calculate. The argument is often a range of cells, but it can be much more complex.

SIES garden patrol harvested eggplants from the school vegetable garden. They record the number of baskets and the number of eggplants per basket . What operation should they use to identify the total number of eggplants they harvested ?
