Microsoft Excel is one of the most powerful and most popular electronic spreadsheet tools available.

The Parts of a Function To work correctly, a function must be written in a specific way, which is called syntax. The basic syntax for a function is as follows: A. Equal sign ( = ) indicates that what follows is a function

B. Function name (example: SUM) indicates the operation that will be performed. C. Argument (example: A1:H1 ) contains the information that you want to calculate. The argument is often a range of cells, but it can be much more complex.

What are the three parts of a function of electronic spreadsheet? What are the four arithmetic operators in Microsoft Excel?  

A. Direction: Look at the part of a function shown by the teacher. Identify what part of a function is it. Equal sign Argument Function name

B. Analyze the problems. Identify the arithmetic operator that should be used to solve them . a. Using Microsoft excel, Grade 6 pupils wanted to solve for the total amount of sales they have for the month of February. What arithmetic operation/operator should they use? b . SIES garden patrol harvested eggplants from the school vegetable garden. They record the number of baskets and the number of eggplants per basket . What operation should they use to identify the total number of eggplants they harvested ?

Assignment Write an example of a function in your notebook. Label its parts. Give examples using the four arithmetic operators/operations. Write them in your notebook.
