DESIGN STRATEGIES
GREEN CORRIDORS LAND VALUE FUNCTIONS STRUCTURE
Combined with existing
landscape resources, the
green system is
composed of a north-
south axis connecting
Phase 1 and Phase 2, a
major east-west axis, and
several minor axes.
The land is divided into
different zones with
various land values
according to the
surrounding condition.
Different functional
groups (commercial,
residences, tourism island,
etc.) are arranged to meet
the needs of city
development while
maximizing the value of
the land.
According to the land
value, functions, such as
tourism and leisure, the
core business, high-end
residential, general
residential, and others.

SHORE PROTECTION PLAN
ROCK BOULDER REVETMENT
SHORELINE REVETMENT
L-BLOCK QUAY WALL
SHEET PILED QUAY WALL

•Eastern side of Phase 2
•Revetment slope maintained at 1:5 ratio and 1:8
•Crest at +1.9 m from MSL
•Toe embedded minimum -0.3m below sea level
•Designed with a stable slope to absorb wave energy
and minimize erosion
COASTAL PROTECTION MEASURES
SHORELINE REVETMENTS

•Western Side Hulhumale Phase 1
•steel sheet piles driven vertically into the seabed
•Resist lateral earth and water pressures, providing
structural stability.
•Corrosion- resistant coatings applied to steel sheet piles to
ensure long-term durability in a marine environment.
•Installation of tie rods and waling beams to reinforce sheet
pile walls and distribute loads evenly.
•Integration with port infrastructure, allowing for berthing
and mooring of vessels while providing coastal protection.
COASTAL PROTECTION MEASURES
SHEET PILED QUAY WALL

•North and west coasts of phase 2
•Stone seawalls with a top height
of +4.0m
