About Starbuck Established in 1971 by Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl , and Gordon Bowker in Seattle’s Pike Place Market. Starbucks is named after the first mate in Herman Melville’s Moby Dick. The logo is also inspired by the sea – featuring a twin-tailed siren from Greek mythology. Over 35,000 stores in more than 80 countries, making it one of the largest coffeehouse chains worldwide. Starbucks is the largest coffeehouse company in the world ahead of UK rival Costa Coffee BALDWIN – BOWKER – SIEGL

Starbuck in India Starbucks had entered the Indian market in October 2012 Tata Starbucks Limited is the 50:50 joint venture between Starbucks Coffee Company and Tata Gold Beverages Ltd. The outlets are branded Starbucks "A Tata Alliance". As of August 2023, Starbucks operates over 300 outlets in more than 70 cities of India Starbucks aims to open 1,000 cafes in India by 2028, with a new store opening approximately every third day Emphasis on creating a welcoming "third place" experience between home and work, with a cozy ambiance and friendly service.

Acquisition Strategies Starbucks aims to open 1,000 stores in India by 2028, which would mean opening a new store every three days. Starbucks is expanding into Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, and plans to increase the number of drive- thrus , airports, and 24-hour stores. Starbucks also plans to double its workforce to around 8,600 employees. Starbucks entered India in 2012 through a 50:50 joint venture with Tata Consumer Products Limited, branded as “Starbucks – A Tata Alliance”. The partnership combines Starbucks' global branding with Tata's local expertise. Starbucks opened its first Indian roasting and packaging plant in Kodagu, Karnataka the year after opening its first store in Mumbai.
