Combination antiretroviral Therapy for HIV patients

includes drugs given as a combination in the management of HIV/AIDs

1. Combination ART Therapy At least the ART regimen with 03 drugs is recommended, meanwhile that with 02 drugs is NOT recommended. Monotherapy can only be used during pregnancy. ALL ART regimens contain drugs from at least 02 different classes.

2. Combination ART Therapy 2 For a treatment-naïve patient, one of the following 04 regimens based on efficacy, safety profiles, and tolerability: Abacavir / Lamivudine + Dolutegravir , Tenofovir / Emtricitabine + Dolutegravir , Tenofovir / Emtricitabine + Elvitegravir / Cobicistat ,

3. Combination ART Therapy 3 Tenofovir / Emtricitabine + Raltegravir . NOTE: 02 NRTIs + an INSTI, or 02 NRTIs + either an INSTI, an NNRTI, or a pharmacokinetically enhanced PI. Four classes of ART aren’t used, thus called class-sparing.
