If x is initial dryness fraction of steam Water droplet in steam sample = (1-x)(Ms + Mw) kg For separating calorimeter = (1-x1)(Ms + Mw) kg For throttling calorimeter = (1-x2)Ms kg

Water droplet in steam sample = water droplet removed by separating calorimeter + water droplet passed through throttling calorimeter. x=x1.x2
