3. Introduction(Comfed) The Bihar State Milk Co-operative Federation Ltd.(COMFED) was established in 1983. Its dairy development based on “Anand Pattern” in Bihar . Comfed is serving the consumers of Jharkhand and there are three dairies in Jamshedpur, Ranchi & Bokaro. These diaries are serving good numbers of towns and cities of Jharkhand , Ranchi, Est & west Singhbhoom, Hazaribagh, Gumla, Khunti, Palamu , Lohardaga, Dhanbad, Girdhic. Sudha Milk products are available now in Delhi , Uttarakhand & in some parts of west Bengal. 3

4. AOA of comfed :- AOA :-It sets the day to day functions of the organization & how an organization is functioning. Comfed develops the districts first in terms of dairy development coupled with capacity development of milk producers to shoulder broader responsibilities and then hands over the entire operations to the representatives democratically elected by the milk producers . Chairman Commodities means milk, milk products, cattle feed, raw or processed agricultural products, dairy and food packaging material, equipment, machinery, etc. Federation . Member. Milk Union Managing Director Programming Committee Registrar means Unit Fat and S.N.F. in dairy product will be expressed in terms of Unit. General Meeting includes ordinary, extraordinary, and Special General Meeting. 5

6. MOA: - MOA:- It is an object in which an organization is existing. The fundamental objective of the Federation shall be: To carry out activities for promoting production, procurement, processing and marketing of milk and milk product for economic development of the farming community. 6

9. Voting Rights of comfed :- Each member shall have one vote by virtue of its ordinary membership, proxies shall not be allowed. Besides this one vote, the ordinary member shall have one additional vote also for every two lakh units transacted through the Federation during the previous financial year. 9

10. Accounts & Records :- Books of accounts and other records shall be maintained as prescribed in the rules-and also as directed by the Registrar with such additions as the Directors of the Board consider necessary. In case of absence of provisions or inconsistency or repugnancy in the bye-laws of the Member Unions, the bye-laws of the Federation shall prevail subject to the provision of the Act and Rules. 10

11. Conclusion :- Dairy co-operative is an important component of organized milk market in Bihar. The main aim of the Dairy Co-operative movement in Bihar- has been organize farmers so as to gain bargaining power to get better terms from selling milk.
