BRIEF HISTORY AND PROFILE OF THE COMMUNITY Upon meeting the chiefs on Friday, 12 th , July, 2024, it was revealed that our assigned community (Low Cost) was a government quarters for heads of Governmental Institutions in the Municipality during the era of President Ignatius Kutu Achampong in the 1970s going. The name “Low Cost” was adopted to as the name of the area because the people staying there used to pay less as rant, meaning they were paying “LOW COST” for staying there.

BRIEF HISTORY AND PROFILE Conti… LOCATION Low Cost is located in the Asanti Municipal in the Ashanti Region of Ghana . it is at the outskirt of Mampong community. BOUNDARIES It shares boundaries with Adiembra , New Town and Kyenfaso WATER SOURCES Main source of water is through boreholes and pipe born water

HEALTH PATTERN Most common cause of ill health is mosquito, Most of the people are attacked by malaria who often undergo treatment . Their main source of finance for accessing quality health care is through the National Health insurance scheme . They have three chemical store which sell over the “counter drugs .” They have no health facility within the community , the Mampong Municipal Hospital and the AAMUSTED University clinic as well as other private Hospital serves their main place of assess health . EDUCATION FACILITIES There is no school within the community , they to have move from the community to assess education. CULTURE AND TRADITION Most of natives of Low Cost are Christian and Muslim. They have different type of churches in the community and one Mosque. No special festival is celebrated there. The most prepared food at Law Cost is fufu , which is mostly eaten by the people  HOUSING Most of the houses are built with blocks and few bricks which are well Ventilated OCCUPATION Farming is the dominant occupation of the People of the people.
