Comparative adjectives presentation/ 3 Grade

A grade 3 presentation for comparative adj.

1. Comparative Adjectives Grade 3

2. This man is tall. This boy is short. This man is tall er than the boy .

3. The Penguin is light. The elephant is heavy. The Penguin is light er than the elephant.

4. The tea is hot. The water is cold. The tea is hott er than the water.

5. Video Time 

6. These are all short adjectives. What about long adjectives?! Ex: Expensive – Difficult – Comfortable. We add: more + adjective + than My car is more expensive than yours. Today`s exam was more difficult than yesterday`s. The sofa is more comfortable than the chair.

7. Irregular adjectives !

8. My mobile is gooder than yours ! XXX Instead we say : My mobile is better than yours. We don`t say : The Injury is badder than yesterday. XXX Instead we say : The Injury is worse than yesterday.

9. To sum Up: 1- Regular ADJ: bigger than – older than – fatter than. 2- Long ADJ: more beautiful – more wonderful. 3- Irregular ADJ: little = less - far = farther. Now let`s practice one more time 

10. Assignment Write a 10 sentence paragraph comparing your room to your friend`s room using comparing adjectives !
