The complement of a set A, denoted by A, is the set of all elements in the universal set which do not belong to A.

Study these examples. Let U be the universal set. U = {1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9} A = {1, 3, 6, 8} B = {5, 6, 7} A’ = {5, 7, 9} 2.
