2. At the end of the lesson, you are expected to: Explain what a sandwich is. Identify sandwich component. Prepare sandwich using the three basic components of sandwich.

3. Activity: Let’s Go to Grocery!

4. List of Grocery Items: Chicken breast Lettuce Carrots Sliced bread Salt Pepper Mayonnaise

5. Sandwich an item of food consisting of two pieces of bread with meat, cheese, or other filling between them, eaten as a light meal. It consists of bread, a spread, and fillings.

6. BASIC COMPONENTS OF A SANDWICH The Structure or Base – it is the part upon which the ingredients are placed , consists of some form of bread or dough produce that is whole or sliced.

7. 2. Moistening Agent – is meant to bind the sandwich providing an improvement of both flavor and texture.

8. 3. The filling – consists of one or more ingredients that are stacked, layered or folded within or on the structure to form the sandwich.

9. Chicken Sandwich Ingredients: 1 cup chicken, boiled and flaked ¼ cup mayonnaise 4 slices of white bread 1 pc onion, sliced ¼ cup of carrots, grated 1 lettuce Salt, pepper to taste

10. Procedures: Perform Mise En Place. Shred small pieces of boiled chicken in a bowl. Add mayonnaise, salt and pepper to it. Add onion, carrots and mix it thoroughly. Take a slice of bread and spread the mixture on it. Now, chop the lettuce in small pieces and put them on the slice. Put another slice on top of it and cut them into two.

11. Assignment: C reate a sandwich recipe out of the ingredients you will find at home. Your recipe must include (Name of the Sandwich, Ingredients, Procedures, Preparation Time and No. of Servings.)
