What is Etiquette ? Etiquette is the customary code of polite behaviour in society or among members of a particular profession or group. Human being is a social animal and it is really important for him to behave in an appropriate way . Etiquette refers to behaving in a socially responsible way .

SOCIAL ETIQUETTE . Social etiquette is important for an individual as it teaches him how to behave in a society . Some of the social etiquette are : Saying “Thank You” more often Offering seat to an elderly person /disabled person. Don’t smoke or chew gum while talking to someone. Greet them .

CORPORATE ETIQUETTE It refers to how one should behave while he is at work .

Corporate etiquettes includes: A hand shake is still a professional standard . Don’t interrupt . Don’t walk into someone's office unannounced. Be on time. No phone during meetings. Show genuine interest.

Other types of etiquettes Telephone etiquette : it refers to the way an individual speak on the phone . Eating etiquette :individuals should learn certain decorum while eating in public. Business etiquette : it includes ways to conduct a certain business .

NEED FOR ETIQUETTE Etiquette makes you a cultured individual who leaves his mark wherever he goes. Etiquette teaches you the way to talk, walk and most importantly behave in the society. Etiquette is essential for an everlasting first impression. Etiquette enables the individuals to earn respect and appreciation in the society Etiquette inculcates a feeling of trust and loyalty in the individuals.
