organizational conflicts
Organizational conflict refers to the condition of
misunderstanding or disagreement that is caused
by the perceived or actual opposition in the
needs, interests and values among people who
work together. Organizational conflict may also
be termed as workplace conflict.

Importance of addressing conflicts promptly
Resolving conflicts promptly maintains a
harmonious working environment where team
members feel valued and understood. This leads to
improved morale, increased focus on tasks, and a
more efficient workflow, ultimately enhancing
overall team productivity.

Types of conflict
Interpersonal conflict
Intragroup conflict
Inter-Group Conflict
Organizational Conflict;
Intra-Organizational Conflict
Inter-Organizational Conflict

Interpersonal Conflict:
Interpersonal conflict is between two or more people
who are required to interact and can result in a loss of
productivity and employee turnover. Interpersonal
conflict involves conflict between two or more
individuals and is probably the most common and most
recognized conflict.

Intra-Group Conflict:
A conflict between people who belong to the same
group or department falls under this category. They
might have some troubles because of conflicting goals,
or they want to do their tasks with different
procedures or approaches.

Inter-Group Conflict:
This type of conflict means that there are two or more
different groups or departments that are
disagreeing with each other

Again, this has two different types:
intra-organizational conflict and
inter-organizational conflict.
Organizational Conflict

Causes of Conflict in the Workspace
Personality clashes
Unrealistic needs and expectations
Business values
Unresolved workplace issues
Increase in workload

Management Role in Conflict Resolution
The resolution of any conflict will primarily be determined
by the approach and conduct of the managers involved,
the manner in which they deal with the issue. This should
also be based on an understanding of the underlying
reasons for the conflict, which will have a major effect on
the outcome.

Organisational theory has led to the conduct of a volume of
study on the significance of management skills. It emphasises
the role of management and skills in organisations i.e., in
formulating and directing strategies and acting as the critical
link between the upper echelons of an organisation and the
workforce. Therefore, they play a vital role in guiding their
organisations to realise their targets by directing and
motivating the workforce.
