6. A hospital in Lahore is in the design stage of adding a new 5-floor 500 bed hospital building and is scheduled to begin construction in two months . The engineering department is normally responsible for assigning a construction manager for all projects within the hospital. Currently, the engineering department has no one with experience in the construction of an entire building. As a result, the hospital management is considering using the architectural/design firm that is currently designing the building to do the construction management as well. Another option would be to go with a firm specialized in construction management. The engineering department head, on the other hand, believe that his senior project engineer can handle the job for three reasons: he has a good design background, he pays meticulous attention to detail, and he is currently available.
