Slide Content

Colour scheme is mainly red and
black which are powerful colours
presenting the magazine as
sophisticated, perhaps aimed at the
teenage or middle aged women.
Full body image. Model appears to
be looking away from the camera
presenting herself as mature and
posing. Her outfit: a red dress,
matches the colour scheme. She has
accessorised her outfit to reinforce
the fashion theme of ‘Vogue’.
‘Cover stories’ is in capitals and a
larger text than the rest of the
writing on this page to draw the
reader to these headlines and show
them to be most significant.
All titles such as ‘Fashion’ and ‘in
Vogue’ are in red capitals to draw
reader’s attention to these sections
and t break up the constant black
writing.
Below we can
see that italics
have been
used within
the contents
to make
contents more
exciting and
sophisticated.
A smaller image has been used here
in the corner to show what reader
can be given if they subscribe to
Vogue perhaps as way of persuasion
for reader to spend more money on
the magazine.
The title ‘Vogue is
overlapping the
main image. The
main image
background is grey
to make the model
stand out even
more. I can also see
that the model is
wearing red eye
shadow to portray
that Vogue is not
only a fashion
magazine but also a
beauty one. The
models makeup
looks quite daring
and out of the
ordinary drawing
reader in and
perhaps want to
see closer up of the
model’s face if the
reader is
particularly
interested in
makeup.

Main colours used are orange and
black. The titles appear to be orange
and in a larger text than the smaller
titles to draw attention to them and
to summarise the titles which are
going to be underneath. If the
reader has the magazine to focus on
home designs then they will be able
to find these pages easily by using
the contents
Three images in a row have been
used. Each image is different
showing different views of a home.
Each picture looks appetising and
uses interesting colours to brighten
the contents up and appeal to the
reader.
The pictures used
show houses which
look wealthy and
quite posh perhaps
showing that this
reader is aimed more
at the wealthier
home owners who
enjoy interior design.
At the bottom I can see a website is
on the page showing that if the
reader wants to find out more the
reader has online resources that are
also available.
Bright blue and green
has been used in this
image making the
contents colourful. If
a dark grey sky had
been used then it
would’ve made the
house look less
appealing.
Contents has been clearly laid out
with numbers at the side, titles in
capitals and extra information
underneath making the contents
easy to use and clear.

Here I can see that actual food
products: pepper and tomato has
been used as the main title
reinforcing the idea that this is a
food magazine and making the
contents more intriguing, fun for
the reader instead of having just a
normal font for the title. This is
more artistic and creative.
The main colours used are green and
black. Green is a typical colour related
to vegetables perhaps presenting the
magazine as quite a healthy magazine.
Green we can see is used regularly in
the pictures down the side and also as a
border-like image at the bottom.
The titles on this contents page are in
Italics. Italics tend to be used on the
names of dishes in posh, expensive
restaurants perhaps showing the recipes
used in the magazine use expensive
ingredients, fancy food. The contents
has overall been laid out like a menu
linking to the food theme.
The fourth image shown down
the right hand side of the
contents is of cupcakes that look
like they have been decorated to
look like witches hats perhaps
portraying that this magazine
was issued around Halloween.
This would also explain the
constant use of the colour green.
The contents is a
double page which
because of my
research I found quite
unusual as the
contents is normally a
single page. However
the double page I
believe makes it look
more spread out and
clear.

The main colour scheme used is
yellow and white. These colours
massively stand out from the dull
grey background making the
contents easy to read and clear.
The main image is of a cat looking away
from the camera. We can see most of
the cat’s body. The cat looks well fed
and looked after showing that this
magazine is perhaps aimed at people
who have pet cats or are looking to buy
a cat.
Again the contents
has been clearly laid
out with numbers
down the side to
show the page
numbers and a title in
capital, large letters
with a summary/small
insight underneath.
The cat shown is a tabby
cat which is a popular cat
normally kept as a pet by
families showing that this
magazine is perhaps
aimed at families looking
for a pet cat? The cat is
looking away making the
picture indirect.
The cat’s eyes are yellowish
matching the colour scheme. The
cat’s fur is mostly a greyish colour
again matching the colour scheme
whilst standing out from the
background.
The magazine appears to be called
Cat Fancy as this is in capital letters
and also matches the colour
scheme. The word ‘Fancy’ shows
that this is a magazine perhaps
aimed at more posh generations.
