Understanding Age Groups while doing Asanas For Younger children focus on flexibility and strength – Introduce simple practices, avoid complex poses.
Relate asanas to nature, animals, birds, etc., for engagement – To keep the younger children interested and involved connect the asanas to nature and animal theme.
Older children need posture alignment and breath awareness – encourage in perfecting the postures, breath awareness, use of props for better awareness of their body and mind.
Safety Precautions and Progression Prioritize safety precautions Start simple and progress gradually – Begin with basic postures , gradually introduce more advanced poses, as the students develop strength and flexibility. Repetition helps in mastering the pose – repeat the posture often. .
Classroom Management and Demonstration Divide the class in to two groups for peer observation and feed back. 2. Demonstrate the posture first before asking the student to attempt it. This provides clarity and safety in execution. 3. BE SUPPORTIVE AND NON JUDGMENTAL – ALWAYS ENCOURAGE THE STUDENTS WITH POSITIVE COMMENTS.
