Kindergarten Quarter 1: Week 5 Enhanced Kindergarten Blocks-of-Time

Day 3

Competencies: Identify the letter form, sounds and the corresponding name. Compare two groups of objects to decide which is less or more or if they are equal. CSE: CSEK2B-Identify different emotions HG: Value oneself and others

Objectives: Work Period 1 Produce the correct sound of letters Mm and Aa. Name objects that begin with the letters Mm and Aa. Write the upp ercase and lowercase of the letters Mm and Aa. Story Time Tell what happened next. Work Period 2 Draw group of objects that are less, more, or equal. Outdoor Game Move with the correct rhythm.

Transition Today, let’s name objects that begin with Letter Mm and Letter Aa.

Work Period 1

Work Period I - Independent Activities Group 1 – Do It Right Using the cardboards with uppercase and lowercase letters Mm and Aa, you are going to connect the broken lines to be able to form the letters. On the space provided, write correctly the uppercase and lowercase of letters Mm and Aa .

Work Period I - Independent Activities Group 2 – Do I B egin with Mm or Aa? Using the cut-outs of pictures, group the pictures according to its beginning letter. Then, make a chart of objects having the same beginning letters of Mm and Aa.

Work Period I - Independent Activities Group 3 - Letter Mosaic (Mm/Aa) I have here templates of u ppercase Letters A and M and small pieces of paper. You are going to paste the small pieces of paper inside the template to be able to make Letters M and A Mosaic.

Work Period I - Independent Activities Group 4 – Letter Lacing Cards (Mm and Aa) Y ou are to lace the card using the string or yarn following the holes that forms the letters M and A.

Teacher Supervised Activity (8 minutes per group) Objectives: Produce the correct sound of letters Mm and Aa. Name objects that begin with the letters Mm and Aa. Write the uppercase and l owercase of the letters Mm and Aa.

During Reading Interactive Reading (Guide the learners by asking questions for them to retell the whole story) Who are the two friends in the story? What make Mara and Mario sad? happy? angry? afraid? What are the different emotions/ feelings do Mara and Mario feel?

Read Aloud Different Feelings, Different Emotions Written by: Yayi Espenilla-Fua Illustrated by: Ken Bautista One day, the two friends, Mara and Mario are talking. Ask: Who are the two friends in our story?

Read Aloud Mara said: “I feel happy when I am watching my favorite TV show and when my mother tells me a story.” Mario replied: I am happy when I play with my friends

Read Aloud Ask: What made Mara and Mario happy? Mara continued, “I feel sad when my father goes to the city to work and I felt sad when my grandmother died.”

Read Aloud I was angry when my younger sister lost my pencil”, said Mara. Mara and Mario continue to talk about what make them afraid or scared. They feel happy while they were talking about the different feelings they feel in the different situations. Ask: What made Mara and Mario angry?

Post reading It is okay and natural that we feel happy, sad, angry, and afraid. These are called different emotions. But we should know how to handle our different emotions.

Wrap Up Ask: What are you going to do if you are angry? How can we control our anger? (Call 2-3 learners to share)
