Covered conductor

These are conductors encased in an insulation to prevent accidents through contact with the conductor. There are different types of covered conductors.

2. 2 COVERED CONDUCTOR Covered conductors consist of a conductor surrounded by a covering made of insulating material as protection against accidental contacts with other covered conductors and with grounded parts such as tree branches, etc.– As BS EN 50397-1: 2006.
