What is Climate
Change and
global warming?
Climate change refers to long term changes in
temperature and weather patterns around the world.
While these changes can occur naturally, human
activities such as the burning of fossil fuels are
accelerating this process significantly. Global warming is
the long-term heating of Earth's surface observed since
the pre-industrial period (between 1850 and 1900) due to
human activities, primarily fossil fuel burning, which
increases heat-trapping greenhouse gas levels in Earth's
atmosphere.

Causes of
Climate Change
The main cause of climate change is the
increase in greenhouse gas emissions
such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and
methane (CH4). The main sources include
the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation,
and intensive agriculture. Industrial
processes, burning fossil fuels, and
cutting down forests release large
amounts of greenhouse gases into the
atmosphere

Environmental
Impacts
Environmental impacts of climate
change include rising global
temperatures, melting polar ice caps,
rising sea levels, changing weather
patterns, more floods, droughts, or
intense rain, as well as more frequent
and severe heat waves.

Renewable Energy
One of the main solutions to addressing climate change is
the transition to renewable energy such as solar, wind,
and hydropower. These energies produce fewer emissions
and are key to a sustainable future.

Mitigation
Strategy
Mitigating climate change involves reducing
greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing
carbon sinks. Other mitigation strategies
include increasing energy efficiency,
reforestation, and changing consumption
and production patterns.
Every individual can contribute by
reducing their carbon footprint. One
key strategy is to shift to renewable
energy sources like solar, wind, and
hydropower, while improving energy
storage systems for reliability.

Adaptation
Strategy
This includes building climate resilient
infrastructure, protecting ecosystems, and
better land use planning. Develop crop
varieties that are more tolerant of heat,
drought, or flooding from heavy rains. Provide
more shade and air flow in barns to protect
livestock from higher summer temperatures.
In addition to mitigation, we need
to adapt to the inevitable
impacts of climate change.

Climate change is a global
challenge that requires
collective action.
By raising awareness and
adopting sustainable
measures, we can protect the
planet for future generations.
