Create a Tagul Word Cloud for Researching

Go to
and register

3. You can create
up to 10 word
clouds. Click
on create.

4. Type in the
words you
want
researched

5. Repeat words
you want to
appear larger
in the word
cloud

6. http://www.wordnik.com/
Choose a site to use
for the research.
Tagulautomatically
uses google. I have
chosen Wordnik.
Or any online
dictionaries and
encyclopaedias
You could also
use Visuwords,
Eyeplorer,
lexipedia.

7. Type in a word
to search

8. Highlight the
URL before the
word you typed
in and copy

9. Highlight the
link before the
‘$’ and paste
the new URL

10. It should
appear like this
Keep as lower
case

11. Click on Fetch
tags

12. Select a shape
for your word
cloud

13. Select fonts, you
can choose more
than one.
Select angles for
the words to
appear or select
random and then
click on >>
Click on
‘build a cloud’

14. The word cloud
will be
generated

15. Click on preview

16. Your word
cloud will
appear. If you
are not happy
you can go
back and make
alterations.
I have noticed
that too many
are upside-
down

17. I have changed
the angles and
click on build
cloud again

18. Select Style
Options.
Select
colours for
text,
background
and rollover
colours

19. Click on
Preview.
If you are not
happy with the
colour
combination,
click on
refresh.

20. Here is a new
colour
combination

21. Move your
mouse over a
word and click

22. It should go
to Wordnikand
give
information on
the word you
selected

23. Click on
finalize, choose
the size of the
word cloud,
save and copy
the embed text

24. You can then
add your word
cloud to your
blog or
virtual
classroom.
