Step 1: Getting started Grab a new foolscap. Write today’s date: Tuesday 5 th February 2019 Write the title: Picture Composition – Catching a thief

Step 2: Brainstorming Look carefully at the pictures and write down any words which come to mind.

Step 3: Word Bank These words will help you: walking thief breaking brick shop window stealing run away catch laughing policeman angry camera film

Step 4: Plan Look at each picture and write down points to help you plan your paragraph Who are the characters? What is the man wearing? Where are they? What is happening? How are the children feeling? How is the man feeling? How did the man break the window? What was he trying to do?

Step 4: Plan Look at each picture and write down points to help you plan your paragraph What is the man trying to do? Why? What are the children doing? What did the man drop? What has he got in his hands?
