Odoo 17 provides built-in functionality to support cross-docking operations within its Inventory module, enabling businesses to optimize their supply chain and reduce costs associated with warehousing and inventory management.

3. Enterprise Prerequisites for Cross-Docking Multi-Step Routes Activated: Enable this feature in Settings > Companies > Configuration > Inventory. This enables creation of routes with multiple steps, essential for cross-docking. Shipments Defined: Configure appropriate shipment especially incoming shipment locations, into 2 step shipment to enable cross docking route. Cross-Docking Route Defined: Define a dedicated route specifically for cross-docking operations.

6. Enterprise Configure Incoming shipments : Navigate to Inventory > Configuration > Warehouses and enable Receive goods in input and then stock (2 steps) for Incoming shipments.

8. Enterprise Cross Docking Route Go to Inventory > Configuration > Routes and select the cross-docking route. It might be archived by default, so you may need to unarchive the cross-docking route.

12. Enterprise Configure Products for Cross-Docking: Go to Products and select the products suitable for cross-docking. In the Inventory tab, under Routes, check the boxes for Buy and Cross-Docking. This indicates the product can be purchased and routed through the cross-docking process.

14. Enterprise Create a Sales Order Navigate to the Sales module and select Create > Quotation. Provide Product Details: In the new quotation, add the desired product. Include any necessary details like quantity, price, and taxes. Confirm the Quotation: Once you've filled in the details, confirm the quotation. The quotation status should then change to sale order.

16. Enterprise Purchase O rder Now, return to the Purchase module. You should see a corresponding purchase order automatically generated based on the recently confirmed sales quotation.

18. Enterprise Confirm P urchase Order After selecting the purchase order, we can review its details and confirm it once everything is verified. Upon confirmation of the purchase order, we can then return to the sales order and see that the transfer status for the product is now "Ready."
