ABOUT MAHINDRA GROUP : Mahindra Group is an Indian multi-national conglomerate holding company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The company was set up in 1945 as a steel trading company in Ludhiana as Mahindra & Mohammed by brothers K.C. Mahindra and J.C. Mahindra along with Malik Ghulam Mohammed. After India gained independence and Pakistan was formed; Malik Ghulam Mohammed moved to Pakistan. This led to the formation of Mahindra & Mahindra in 1948. 3

EDUCATION K. C. Mahindra Education Trust: Established by the late Mr. K. C. Mahindra in 1953. It aims to “Transform the lives of people in India through education”. Each group company donates 0.5% of their PAT to the K C Mahindra Education Trust . 13
MAHINDRA PRIDE SCHOOL : In total there are nine Mahindra Pride Schools (MPS) across the country - three schools in Chennai, Pune, Patna, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Varanasi and Srinagar. The schools are meant exclusively for youth (18-25 years) from socially disadvantaged sections i.e., (SC), (ST), (OBC), Notified Tribes (NT) and De-notified Tribes (DNT); offering equal opportunity for men and women, with a focus on rural youth. 14
ENVIRONMENT INITIATIVES: Towards making planet earth greener, the Group has vowed to plant trees for better future under the “Mahindra Hariyali initiative” . HEALTH & DISASTER RELIEF: The Mahindra Foundation has been set up with a specific objective: to provide medical relief to the poor and needy sections of society. The foundation has helped patients suffering from cancer, heart ailments as well as burn victims. 15
ART & CULTURE The Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META) is the latest in the Mahindra Group’s efforts to encourage national theatre in two broad categories - Emerging theatre and Established theatre. SPORTS The National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Mahindra Group, a new multi-city community-based recreational basketball league. 16
NANHI KALI A project jointly managed by K. C. Mahindra and Nanhi foundation for the girl child. ESOPS ESOPS has a whole new meaning at the Mahindra Group. ESOPS (Employee social options) is a platform offering employees across Mahindra group of companies a set of social work volunteering options. Each sector of Mahindra group donates 50% of its CSR budget. 17
Krishi Mitra Program The company has contributed some amount of money for Krishi Mitra Program which aimed at improving income generation for farming communities. The project support small and marginal farmers by training them in effective farming practices including soil health, crop planning, creating model farms for increased crop productivity. The ET Awards jury judged Mahindra & Mahindra as Corporate Citizen of the Year for its mega CSR Project Nanhi Kali . 20
