CUET for Undergraduate
Programmes in Central Universities

OBJECTIVE
The Common University Entrance Test
(CUET) has being introduced for admission
into all undergraduate programmes in different
programmes of the participating:
•Central Universities,
•State Universities,
•Autonomous Institutions,
•Private Universities,
•Deemed Universities across the country.
EXECUTING AGENCY

➢There is no age limit for the candidates.
➢The candidates must have passed the Class 12 /
equivalent examination from a recognized Board for
admission to Bachelor's degree program in different
Universities.
➢Class 12 students who have not yet appeared in the
board exams or are appearing in current year are also
eligible to apply, irrespective of their age.
➢However, the candidates will be required to fulfill the
age criteria (if any) of the University in which they are
desirous of taking admission .

➢A candidate can choose a maximum of any 3 languages from Section IA and Section
IB taken together. However, the third language chosen needs to be in lieu of 6

domain specific Subject chosen by the candidate – as applicable.
➢The maximum number of tests to be taken remain 9 only i.e.:
❖2 Languages + 6 Domain Specific Subjects + 1 General Test
Or
❖3 Languages + 5 Domain Specific Subjects + 1 General Test
➢Note: Flexibility is provided to help a candidate apply for many Universities
depending on their eligibility conditions. Candidates canchoose a maximum of 10
subjects.
➢Examination will be conducted on multiple days in three shifts, depending on the
number of Candidates and Subject choices
General Guidelines

General Guidelines
➢There are45 Central, 37 State, 32 Deemed, 133 Private, and 3 other
Universitiesunder CUET offering admission to UG courses through
CUET entrance examination.
➢Candidates can check the CUET colleges list and courses before applying
for the Common University Entrance Test.
➢The link for getting list of all participating institutions are given below:

➢While filling up the Online Application Form, candidates should select any two
Convenient Cities from the given list as their Choice of Cities for the exam Centre in
order of their priority.
➢For convenience, the candidates may select their own city or neighboring cities in their
State of Residence only and not for far away cities in other States.
➢In case, the number of candidates opting for a city as centre with a regional language is
less than a certain minimum, candidates may be allotted Centre in another city
irrespective of the city opted by the candidates for appearing in the examination.
CHOICE OF CITIES

➢Merely appearing in CUET does not confer any right to the candidate for admission to the
desirous University.
➢The selection and admission are subject to fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility, rank in
the merit list, medical fitness, verification of original documents, and such other criteria as
may be prescribed by the University.
➢Admissions are handled at the level of each of the Central Universities (CUs) for their
respective programs. After the declaration of the CUET result by NTA, the respective CUs
will declare the counselling/ admission schedule and merit list based on the CUET score and
the other criteria of the respective University.
➢For all admission related procedures/queries, the candidates are advised to refer to the
website of the applied University.
NTA does not have any role in preparation of Merit List
